Connect to God & Community

What it Means to CONNECT

It’s about connecting to God and to your church community. We seek and support genuine relationships with God and others. At Solid Rock Church, you’ll be encouraged by like-minded believers who truly want to see you prosper in your walk with God.

Real Stories of Connection

We all have triumphs and tragedies in our lives; the important thing is to know you’re not alone. God is with you, wherever you are. These stories are from people just like you. Read their personal testimonials and connect it to your journey.

Amy’s Story

“Initially what drew me to Jesus was the fact that I was pregnant. It was my senior year in college, and I truly had no support. Many were trying to talk me into having an abortion, including my child’s father. I was broken…”

Angela’s Story

“Although my parents had raised me in church, as I came into my high school years, I began to search for acceptance from my peers. I became heavily involved in the party scene. Hardly a day passed without me being high or drunk.”

Connect to a Personal God

Church is not a building. Church is people: people who share important connections between God and each other.

Jesus said that the greatest commandment is that we should love the one and only God with everything we are and everything that we have. He also said the second commandment is that we should love our neighbor as ourselves (Mark 12:28-31).

What this means is that God is a personal God who is concerned about relationships: our relationship with Him and our relationship with others. Because God is a personal, relational God, He has a name – “Jesus” – which means “God has become my rescuer.”

In John 15:5, Jesus said “I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.”

Connection is Important

How does this play out in my life? A critical part of connecting with God is a commitment to worship, prayer, and learning His Word (Acts 2:42; Hebrews 10:24-25).

Not only should this be a part of our daily personal lifestyle, but it should also be a part of coming together as believers. We progress in our spiritual journey when we do things together, like worshipping, learning the Word, and fellowship.
